Have a feeling PM stands for Power Management. Try a Windows XP repair, that
should help.

Follow this link for steps on how to perform a Repair Install:

pmproxy.exe seems to be part of the SoundMax drivers - try reinstalling your
sound card (built in?) drivers - or look for an upgrade.

(ps. - put the golf clubs away while using a computer)

M$ is determined to have its software running in everything, everywhere,
eventually. There are microprocessors in our cars, tvs, phones now. I seem
to recall a recent story about golf balls with chips in them to facilitate
tracking and analyzing your shot. RFID chips in grocery store items can
analyze your shopping patterns.

Big Brother is already here!
