I have tried everythingto make it load but it doesnt. Its one of those computer games. When I look at the prefrences for it the computer says that everythings all right. But it never loads. When I try to l;oad it manually it says there is no disc in the drive:wall:. Help please!

Yes, and the game works. Its the computer thats not working I think. I have tried games that I have played in the past on the computer and they dont work either.

You need to explain to us what you mean it doesnt work?

It switches on?
Do you get a desktop screen?

Simply putting a disk into a computer wont make it do that on its own ;)

Can you explain further please?

And give us your system specs too :)

Sorry, im a little new at this. Well, the computer works fine. The internet works( as you can tell) and so does everything else. Its just the cd/dvd loader wont work. And, uh, what are system specs?

Ok computer works. Have you tried any other disk in the DVD rom?

Is it a DVD rom you have or is it a CD rom and you are inserting a dvd into it?

You say the game minimum requirements are fine. Are you sure?
You have checked the box then compared them to the specs of your machine?
Your Operating system ie XP/Vista, memory, CPU.

Your DVD rom maybe faulty. Try other disks first

Its a cd rom and yes I have inserted about 4 diffrent cds into the drive. (Cds as in games). The games requirments are fine, but the computer didnt even load the games we had played on the computer in the past. Yes I checked the box, and the memory ect... I was thinking that the tower would just need to be replaced, but I was hoping it wouldnt come to that.

Try inserting a music CD and see what happens..If nowt happens then, look in Device manager and check the drivers for the CD/DVD Player..

Click on Start > right click on My Computer > Click on Manage and Computer management will open, look for device manager..Click on that..to the right you will see a list of devices..Find your CD/DVD player and see if there is a yellow question mark next to it..If there is then you need to re-install the driver for it...

Ok thats a good thing..In the same device manager, double click on your CD/DVD player and click on Trouble shoot and see what happens..Also check to see if there is perhaps a driver update for the device by clicking update driver...

Does your cd-rom drive work fine or does it only crash with games.

Could try cleaning the cd-rom drive.
