When I open the XP, it always starts with the folder Program Files

I believe it is also the reason I can't open an attachment in
Agent. In order to see the attachment I have to save it first and
launch it from the explorer.

If I reinstall Agent it behaves normally until I restart the computer,
an indication the problem probably reside in the registry.When I open
the XP, it always starts with the folder Program Files

I have been told this is the result of a virus . In order to remove
this virus I need to know it's name

Help any one ?

Or you may have a Short-cut to the Programs Folder that somehow made it to
the Start Folder and the Programs Folder is being displayed when you boot
and logon. Have you checked that possibility?

Is "Active Desktop" enabled with that location (or worse a program in that location) as a URL?
Active Desktop is not and never was a good idea imo.

A serch on the registry doesn't show "Active Desktop" . It does show
The following:

Name Type Data
ab (Default) REG_5Z Desktop
