When I open my contacts, I have 100's of the word 'shortcuts'?

I use Microsoft XP Version 2002. When I open up my Contacts...I have 100's
of the word Shortcuts over to the left where my icons are. Has anyone ever
seen that and if yes, how do you get rid of them.
