When i change Video Settings/Fade

When i do a Fade and a transition, it always crashes and closes out. I have been using Spybot and Adaware, do you think it must of removed a file i needed? how can i fix this problem? my specs ar

256 RA
64mb ATI Radeon 900
80 gb of Harddrive 27.5 lef
Pentium
996 MH
Windows XP
