I have 2 websites that I manage with FrontPage 2003. Let's say they are
www.web1.com and www.web2.com just for the fun of it. I can login to either
site and do just about anything I need except when I highlight a line of text
and right-click and choose hyperlink or if I choose the hyperlink icon on the
toolbar, I immediately get an error that says (dependent upon the site I'm
in...) "The folder www.web1.com is no longer available." because of this I
cannot add any hyperlinks. I've used FrontPage 2002 then 2003 for quite a
while and started having this issue within the past few months. Lets say I
want to add a link to a PDF file one directory level up and the file is named
file1.pdf. To get around the not-able-to-add-a-link problem, when the error
occurs I click ok to clear it and then I have access to the window where you
can enter the hyperlink. Since I can't browse to the link because "The...
folder is no longer available," I have to manually type it in... for example
I would enter "../file1.pdf" to get the correct syntax so that the link will
work correctly.
I get this same folder error no matter what site I'm editing. What "folder"
does it want, where did they go and how do I fix it?
Thanks!
