When do you need a new mdw file

I was wondering when you change permissions on objects such as
forms/reports/queries for a particular group, does the mdw file get updated
with those changes or are those changes saved within the mdb?

MDW is only the groups, the accounts, and which accounts are members of
which groups. Permissions are stored in the MDB.
