When do mandatory profiles get updated??

Hi all,
I have a lab situation at a chool in jersey and we have mandatory profiles
setup for our lab accounts. While testing it I came upon something curious.

It was my understanding that mandatory profiles are updated every time that
user logs in but it look like every time I make a change on the desktop and
log out and log back in the change does not go away. Only when I restart
the machine does the mandatory profile get downloaded from the server. The
profiles are on average 60mb.

Is there anyway to change this or is this by design to minimize network
traffic?? Thanks,

Are you running the latesat service pack on server and workstation?
I would implement tip 3160 in the 'Tips & Tricks' at http://www.jsiinc.com,
though you really shouldn't have to.
