This plugin is about 100 years old now, and is so out of date with the
current range of cameras available. I for one have a 30D, and this
plugin does not know it even exists!

Come on Microsoft, people pay a lot of money for your operating
systems, so pull your finger out your butt and sort this out.

BTW: An operating system should come with the basics of everything you
need so you don't to pay out for anything else unless you really want
to. A photo editor, an office suit, a DVD/CD burner and authoring tool,
a RAW file viewer (that works), Anti-Virus, dictionary, thesaurus, HTML
editor, an FTP client, a desktop planetarium, a sample editor, CD
labelling software, MP3 <> WAV converter, I could go on and on. You
only need the basics of these!

People are currently paying out hundreds of pounds on an operating
system that basically does sod all! Ok, you get Windows Explorer, IE,
Movie Maker, Mediaplayer.... er some shite games.

All the Windows adverts state you can do loads of really cool different
things... er no, you cant! not unless you pay out hundreds more on the
software and hardware to do it!!!

Windows does not do anything!!!! The hardware, and the 3rd party
software you buy does it all. All windows does is allow you to use the
hardware, and run the software - whoopie!

If you keep your operating systems as they are now, then the cost
should be no more than £50.

anyway, bored now....

Your post is not directed to MS.

These news groups are self-help groups and not monitored by MS per se.

The post is directed toward all the volunteers who monitor this news group and
have little input in what MS developers do with their products.

Highly unlikely that MS will ever see the posting unless a representative from
MS drops by.

But you did amuse yourself for a brief time while composing and posting the
message so some benefit derived.

"Obviously pure bull- The windows versions with the plugin arn't that old.
Anyway, with all the different versions of mfr and model specific RAW files,
The only way out is to have the mfrs standardize on a raw format. (Which
they are not going to do.) Perhaps you should obtain a camera that is on the
support list if this feature is important to you. After all, many mfrs
provide such plugins or at least a basic application that reads the raw
files. Cannon is one of the mfrs. that do so.

Keep the money rolling in. Microsoft pay dividends.
Besides that, if the price is too low, Microsoft gets sued!

"Come on Microsoft, people pay a lot of money for your operating

Microsoft got sued several times for providing applications with the
operating system.
(and lost!) so YOU WANT THEM TO DEFY COURT ORDERS that cost them lots of
money?

Windows is an operating system, not a bundled do everything for everyone.
Perhaps you should be complaining to the PC mfrs to bundle more useful apps.

Well, if windows does not do anything, there is no reason for you to buy it.

"All the Windows adverts state you can do loads of really cool different

I'd suggest that you change to Linux, and go from there.

"Windows does not do anything!!!! The hardware, and the 3rd party

Keeping the operating system "as it is now" is a sure way to go bankrupt.
Even Linux changes.
If microsoft had done this, we would still be using DOS, and microsoft would
have long since gone the way
of the other ops system houses that are defunct. You must create a market
for a product, and keep developing it.

"If you keep your operating systems as they are now, then the cost
should be no more than £50."

As I said, switch to Linux
That should keep you busy, and out of our hair.

"anyway, bored now...."
