When will they come up with a FIX for EVERYBODY that has VISTA installed, to
correct the EMail problem with the Deleted & Junk Mail folders..? This is
incredible, it's been WAY TOO LONG for this problem to be unsolved the
CORRECT way. I'm very disappointed & annoyed that my folders keep growing
& growing for NO reason. I've read some of the temporary fixes suggested by
Users but WHERE IS THE PERMANENT FIX...?

How do you propose the fix the problem of people using
incompatible software with Vista?

OK...I totally agree with the point that you're making about incompatible software but I bought a new computer that had Vista installed and with it came this 'Windows EMail'. I understand that it replaced Outlook Express? Is there a better EMail software out there that I can download that doesn't seem to have so many bugs? After going through past messages, it looks like I'm definitely not the only one that would be interested in your suggestions.

Give Windows Live Mail a try.
It is definitely less buggy than Windows Mail.

What AntiVirus was included? If you got a free trial for either McAfee or
Norton, you should get the uninstalling file from their website and replace
it with either free AVG or free Avast4. Both work much better with ista and
Windows Mail.

Give Thunderbird a try, been using it for a couple of weeks now and like
it more each day. Has a lot of potential and a great help forum. Also
appears to coexist with most AV programs..

Thanks Gary, Bob and (e-mail address removed).... I will give each one of your suggestions a try, hopefully something works better than this Windows EMail. I appreciate your mature responses, unlike that first one I got.

Good luck. The nice thing about Windows Live Mail is that it will
automatically import your Windows Mail accounts, settings and
saved email, which Thunderbird did not do the last time I tried it.

Hi Gary,

I agree with Lynda - I am so frustrated with Windows Mail. I have only had
my brand new computer for a couple of months! How is Windows Live Mail
different than Windows Mail? I am leary about changing but I also have a 3
year subscription to McAfee through Dell - I obviously had no idea the two
were not compatible!

I bought the whole system from Dell, and opted for the 3-year subscription to
McAfee because I thought it would save me trouble later...HA! So I paid for
the AntiVirus. I know there are free ones (though I haven't heard of avast)
but I was going for convenience...what a huge mistake! Why wouldn't they
have indicated that McAfee is not compatible with Windows Mail!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

At any rate, if I do uninstall the McAfee, you're saying I have to do it
from the McAfee website? I can't just uninstall from my Control Panel?

Thank you...

Windows Live Mail is just another standard email client like
Windows Mail, with the added benefit of Hotmail account
access, recent bug fixes, and ongoing Microsoft support.
You can try it, and if you don't like it, simply uninstall, and
you're back with Windows Mail.

Don't feel bad about dumping McAfee, think of it as
a lesson learned. At least by going with Avast you won't
be spending any extra money.

You should be able to uninstall McAfee via Control Panel,
Programs and Features. The special removal tool (available from
McAfee's website) is needed only when the normal uninstall fails.

Demand your money back on the grounds that the product is
unmerchantisable... ie. not fit for purpose.

Persist since thay haven't got a leg to stand on
and they know it damned well.
