When I start up my computer the screen goes to DOS and I
am prompted to enter which operating system I would like
to run Windows XP Home Edition or Windows XP Home Edition
it doesn't matter which one I click on and then the OS
will continue on with the Windows Boot up process...
Please help

Hi, Forgetz.

No, that's not a DOS screen you see asking which OS you want to run. That
menu is presented by an NT-type Windows (such as WinNT4, Win2K, WinXP or
Win2K3) when you have more than one installation of Windows - or when it
THINKS you have more than one.

Probably the easiest way to fix this is to run msconfig.exe (type msconfig
at the Run prompt), click the Boot.ini tab, and click Check All Boot Paths.
If there really is only one copy of WinXP installed, this should get rid of
the extra one.

If you really DO have two copies installed, then you will need to delete the
boot folder for the one you don't want and THEN do what I just said. If you
need to know how to do that, post back.
