Fo the last few days I have been getting the following message when I
reboot:

CiceroUIWndFrame: WINWORD.EXE - No Disk

There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into
drive\Device\Harddisk\DR12.

I guess it's something to do with Microsoft word but what I don't know. The
only thing I've done with MS Word is put on the service packs. When I did
this I put in my Works suite 2004 disc and everthing installed successfully.
I know there re some very clever people in this group, so over to you.
Many thanks
Dave

This is the "Speech and Handwriting Recognition" part of Office XP. To
de-install it, go to -

"Control Panel"
"Add/Remove Programs"
"Microsoft Office," click on the "Change" button
browse to "Office Shared Features," "Alternative User Input," and select for
Speech and Handwriting Recognition (both) "Not available" from the drop-down
box.

Perform the change and the CiceroUIWndFrame messages disappear. Takes just
a second, and you don't even have to restart your system or insert the XP
Office CD.

Hi John
I've done as you suggested and the CiceroUIWndFrame part of the message has
gone to be replaced by "DDE Server Window: WINWORD:EXE - No Disk"
I didn't go into Micrososft Office because I don't have that installed just
Word which Is part of the works suite. So I disabled in MS Word. Any ideas
on the new message?
Thanks

Don't you mean "Word which is part of the Office Suite"?
If so, go to Add or Remove Programs
Highlight Microsoft Word (or however it appears there)
"Add/Remove Windows Components" button
Change
Add or Remove Features

Expand all that and check there to see which parts are only selected to "run
from CD".
See if that gives any clues.

If you find anything relevant, install it to your HDD instead (you'll need
the CD in of course)
