What's the response time for Apple 20" Cinema display?

at www.jr.com, this monitor is listed as working with Macs
only? Is that true? I plan to use it with a PC. If so,
Would I be able to use all different resolutions?

2nd, What's the response rate for this monitor? Please
provide me a link for it. If you own one and play games on
it, does it do well when you play Halo, Real, Half Life and
other action games? Thanks.

LCD displays have only ONE Native Resolution, so, no, it will NOT work
equally well at all resolutions.

That's not quite the case. If the monitor can support multiple
resolutions it can be set to those resolutions and work quite well if
screen expansion is turned off in the video card. Reducing the
resolution from the default will reduce the screen size to retain a one
for one pixel reproduction. If screen expansion is turned on in the
video card, then the monitor will still work well, but since all but the
design resolution are not one for one pixel resolutions, the resulting
image will be distorted, fuzzy, "out of focus", etc.

But resolution is not the OP's question. It is response time - the time
it takes a pixel to rise to full output and then to decay to no output.
Response time is a somewhat fuzzy specification since it is quoted for a
black to white transition. Response for a black to grey transition can
be markedly different (greater) depending on the shade of grey used for
the test. See www.anandtech.com for a recent review of LCD monitors
that illustrates the weakness in the standard response times. Some fast
25ms or less responses are poor for gaming while others are pretty good.

The best advice for choosing an LCD monitor is to view it under the
conditions it will be used, if at all possible.

Q, that's the problem most of us have, and especially in this case if I
wanted a studio display for half life 2, the mac store just won't have it
cuz there isn't any HL2 for mac.

It gets even harder now that I am shopping for a 19" CRT and narrowed down
to 3 choices, but 99% of the stores here don't even show 19" on shelves.

IMO, on 19" CRT, choose primarily on tubes and supported
refresh rates. As for the tubes,

#1 - Sony
#2 - Mitsubishi
#3- anything else
