Visibly speaking, how could you tell if you were looking
at a 64-bit version.

I am a Internet Installer for the cable company and we
have the wonderful task of repairing customers PC's when
they get the new MSBLAST virus. So basically how can we
determine which patch to use?

Thanks for the info and your time.

This will show what they are running. Best of luck and thanks for the hard work.

You have the 32-bit version of Windows XP. The 64-bit version is
only commercially available for very expensive, high-end Itanium processors.

Just to clarify Micheal Moore's statement, if it doesn't say 64-bit on the
General tab, it's 32-bit. Also, if the system isn't using an Itanium
processor, it's 32-bit. If it's XP Home Edition, it's 32-bit as there is no
62-bit version of XP Home.

Press Winkey+Pause/Break, if it says anything other than Itanium processor,
it is 32 bit. The AMD version of
XP 64 bit has not been released, so anyone would know they have
non-production hardware.

Home only comes in 32 bit, but follow the link provided below for more
information the 64 bit version of XP.
