What's the best way to design a top and side navigation bar?

Last time I tried this, I ended up with 6700 hyperlinks. Is that normal for
a 30 page site??

If you have 223.33 links per page...probably.
Are you saying you ended up with that many navigation buttons or hyperlinks
in general?
How did you create the navigation bar?

I think he means he did a Google search for something about navigation menus
and that's what he came up with.
I hate to sound 'flip' about this but you will design it the way you want it
to look. Find a site that you like and try to find out how it was done.
Try to refine your Google search phrase.
OR, show us a troublesome page ... it's URL
