Due to present a cost down initiative presentation and I am not sure what the
best presentation format or template would be?

Cost savings in the company, or on the PowerPoint presentations?

The default templates in PowerPoint 95 thru 2002 look enough like the
Generic-brand box covers (white background, black text) that I think you
could make your point heard by using them. But I suspect this might be
putting too fine a point on it. (2007 is much, MUCH better)

I guessing you want something that looks a bit better; something that
conveys the message of new corporate cost saving measures, not the effects
caused by it.

So, you will need to do some homework.
What type of business? Textiles, smelting, racing
What is the bottom line take-home message? Do more for less, loose needy
customers, cut corners, waste less
What are your company colors?
Logos? are you allowed to use them?
Who is giving the talk?
Who will be the target audience? public, or just insiders. Professionals,
or students
How long do you have to build this?
How long is the talk?
What is your budget?
Do you have an in-house art department?
