Shame you purchased PC2700 if you were wanting to get the most out of the
system. My A7N8X Deluxe Rev2.0 is happy to about 220MHz.
Looks like you'd best leave it at 166MHz and up the multiplier (I take it
your chip is unlocked?). If you want to up the multiplier, you'll need to
do a pin mod - where you short pin 5 of the multiplier to another pin,
pulling it high or low.

The unlock designated on that page is not an unlock at all. It allows you
to go from 13x multiplier and above, to 12.5x and below - it changes the 5th
bit of the multiplier. You need to change this the other way, so I'd ask
you to compare 8x with 16x - you should find one pin linked different - you
need to short together the two pins of that link on 16x, that is different
on the 8x - That pin is the 5th bit of the multiplier. In the "unlock" they
have changed it one way, you need to change it the other way.
None of that will work if your chip is locked.
If your chip is locked and you wish to make it go faster, you'll need to
either run the FSB out of synch with the RAM (not recommended) or buy faster
RAM and see if you can get it near 200MHz along with the FSB - that'll give
you 12.5 x 200MHz, which is 2.5GHz - some people reckon they've got that and
more, but my Barton 2500+ will not go that high.
