What's the best all-in-one printer for networked Windows XP Home edition?

I give up. I tried with limited success and great
frustration to download the drivers for my HP OfficeJet
720 so that it would work with Windows XP and, after
following the LENGTHY instructions, have found that I've
lost most of the functionality of the all-in-one. So, I
give up. What's the best NEW all-in-one printer that
will work with Windows XP Home Edition for my computer
and for my home network (which is a mix of ME and XP).
I'm willing to buy something new at a reasonable price,
but want to make sure that I get something that XP and my
home network can deal with. THANKS!

FWIW ... I had the same problem with an older printer and recently went out
and bought the HP 5110 OfficeJet (<$200). It works beautifully ... print,
scan, copy and fax. Also works fine as a network printer and the Client on
my home LAN (Win98) has no problem printing to it.

Whatever you buy, DO NOT buy a Brother MFC 9700...it worked really
great with Windows 98, but it absolutely sucks with Windows XP...
