I have a K7N2 Delta-ILSR Motherboard which has a built in sound processor
with

.. Realtek ALC650 6-channel audio
.. Dolby Digital 5.1 format

I also have PCI Sound Blaster Live Card, and was wondering would it make
any difference to game Performace using the Built-in Sound processor, then
using a PCI SB Card ?

3D Games ,, Halo, UT2003, Quake3, Star Trek Elite Force...

Thanks for any info

It's going to have to be a case of try and see. I tend to prefer
standalone cards rather than integrated as I personally need to have a
bass/treble control so I can turn the treble right up. Somehow it never
seems the same doing it with an equalizer.

The Live has its own sound processing hardware and does not rely on your
system's CPU, thereby freeing up CPU processing cycles for more important
things... like running your games a little faster. Since you already have
the Live card, by all means use it, IMHO.

live cards can be problematic for some people, OB sound has come a ways, like someone said try it out...I was happy with a cmedia
setup awhile back...
