What's about USB mouse?

What's the difference between a PS/2 and USB mouse?
I had to install Intellimouse with PS/2 connector, and I cannot change it to
USB.

Is it worth trying to connect USB? Mouse together with the printer 2 will
take up both USB ports on my older tower, leaving none for digital camera.

USB may be slightly faster, but your mouse will work just
fine on PS/2. To change over you'll need to completely
remove the Intellimouse software and the mouse, then reboot
and install the software for USB and then plug the mouse in.

A powered hub might get you some more ports but you might
have some problems with a hub. If you need more ports, buy
a USB 2,0 PCI card.

One possible issue with USB mouses is that they won't work until Windows is
completely booted up unless your motherboard has "legacy" USB support. This
could be a problem if you need to go into the BIOS and have to use the mouse
there. (The same thing also applies to USB keyboards...)

Guess I'll be quite happy to stay with PS/2. Thanks.
