Brad

I have a 32 meg AIW Radeon

Im looking for a program that will simply edit divx movies. Nothing fancy..
just want to be able to cut a length of time out and save it as a smaller
clip.. Also would like to be able to extract the sound only into an mp3 or
wav or something. but not a big deal.

Anything simple is fine and I dont know if theres any basic ATI software for
that..I did it before some time ago with the same video card and i cant
remember what program i used. I had Abode Premiere 6 and its ****ed or
something cause it cant do some of the simplest commands.

Even some kind of shareware or anything minor that i can cut and paste. Any
suggestions ?
Thanks

Hint:

Adobe sets the standard everyone else emulates.

Consider maybe, that the program is not at fault?

google 'Premier 6 tutorials' 'Premier 6 HOWTO' etc etc etc

It can do some of the most complex tasks you can throw at it, it just
cant wrap it in a clueless CLICK HERE windows interface for you.

You want click click click editing? go download windows movie maker or
some crap, dont rag on a product that kicks ass.

Hint:

Consider that you are wrong by making assumptions that 'its the standard
everyone emulates' therefore you think the user is automatically in error.

You weren't the one that found it to be a corrupt copy...So yes,it is the
program.

The program is indeed good, but I dont have it now and the easy solution is
grab some freeware/shareware that can do what Im needing. Thats great that
it can do the 'most complex jobs', but if you actually read my post, you'll
see I dont need any complexity done.. just some cut and paste.

google "how-to answer what a person asks without making up faults and
avoiding the original query"

Maya emulates Adobe? Do tell.

Pagemaker and Photoshop lead their respective markets--everybody else is
playing catch up. Their other products, while decent, aren't always market
leaders. Premiere's good, but it's not infallible and it's most assuredly
not the best tool for all uses.

Well, actually it does have a "clueless CLICK HERE windows interface".
You want click click click editing?

Uh, what sound does _your_ mouse make when you are editing with Premiere, if
it doesn't click?

If it really "kicks ass" then it can stand a little frustration being
vented.

VirtualDub or VirtualDubMod (the latter also opens MPEG-2 files).
