Hi
I've just upgraded from w98 to w2000. I would like to set
up a system restore\backup program so that I could restore
back to a chosen point when everything worked good ,should
I have to.Over the years I've only screwed up my computer
system stuff ,not lost programs.Sometimes I can solve the
problem and others are problems that are so deep embedded
and obscure that NO ONE (actually I speak for myself)can
figure out where the problem is. It is in these cases that
I'm looking for advice on a system restore program. There
are many out there. thanks
Paul

I have a p3 500mhz with a internal c drive and a mobile
rack d: drive that I use to store copies of important
files.Do backup programs like 'goback' partition a drive
to store safe points? is that what you mean by a device? I
also have a 100mb zip drive and a cd writer. I emagine
that a cd burn\backup would not be practical.

Probly true for a full system backup, Just backing up your personal data
files (reinstall your software from orig CDs) is well within reach. But
have you looked in to (re)writable DVDs for full system. You may need to
replace your CD Writer if you cannot burn DVDs. Tapes remain a VERY good
option for backup.
