what would cause "disk too full" messages?

Linda

Besides the obvious that the disk is really full.

I have a W2K Server with AD and Exchange 2000 that keeps
losing disk space on the C: partition. After deleting
files and moving stuff to another partition, we gained a
total of 182 MBs just to watch it slowly shrink to 360
KBs. The Exchange IS is on another partition and the
disk loses space even when the Exchange services are
stopped and the network cable is unplugged.

We ran virus scan and none were found.

Please help.

Try running the DirUse tool from the Windows 2000 Resource Kit. It will
report the amount of space used by each subdirectory. You can have it only
report folders that exceed a certain amount, for example:

diruse /s /m /q:100 /d c:\

will only display folders on drive C: containing over 100MB of files. If
you can track down a folder containing a large amount of files, maybe you
can identify what is putting them there based on what the files are named or
contain.

Good luck.
