Ok. This friend of mine has a "Gforce 2" in his comp but doesn't know
what model it is. The place where he bought it from installed a driver
for it but didn't give him the driver on a CD. The receipt he has
doesn't show what kind of vid card he has. To make matters worse, the
shop closed after a few weeks of buying his comp.

So now, his comp is overrun by viruses and we need to format his drive
to reinstall windows. So we obviously need the driver for his vid card.
How can I figure out what kind of card he has to be able to find the
driver for it? Is there some kind of application or are there ressources
out there that will help me determine this?
Thanks for any help.

Well if it is a geforce card, then it is made by Nvidia. Nvidia only has
one driver available, as their driver works for all their cards.
