i'm looking to switch software and am looking for suggestions/comments as
to what everyone uses.

thanks

I have an ATI TV Pro Remote, and I'm satisfied with it except for the
occasional lock-up due to the known problem with Hyperthreading.

Are you saying that it is possible to use TV tuning software other than what
came with the card?

Try Showshifter http://www.showshifter.com/
or http://www.snapstream.com/
maybe http://myhtpc.net/ with a plugin. Each has it's good features, but
may not have what your looking for. If you want to stream over a network
snapstream is strong in the network area. Showshifter and myHTPC are
mediacenter like program like.

My pick is myHTPC because it works and it's free. But you must do some of
the work yourself to add functions with plugins.

Yeh i have a tv wonder and i use windvr right now and i've tried a couple
of others in the past ,,but just wondering if there's anything else out
there.

I didn't like the ati software ,,to buggy.

I don't use anything now because my computer and DTV are almost side
by side. However from all I've read it would seem that the Hauppauge
WinTV line is excellent. Check it out here www.hauppauge.com

Hauppauge software doesn't work with any boards but theirs. And if the
Hauppauge software was really all that good then there wouldn't be much
of a market for the alternatives.

Their boards are OK, if a bit pricey for the feature set. Other boards
with the same chip can be had for less.

I don't think that's true J, but since you're the expert I'll defer to your
experience.
