Hi!

What tools are you using to make the sandisk compact flash cards fixed
disks? I am using some DOS command line tool, but it would be useful
to have something allowing this procedure in an USB card reader with
Windows XP...

Any hint is welcome!

Thank you very much in advance

Ralph.

Hi Ralph

Sorry about my answer which is not a real answer... It is a question for you
;-)

I'm interrested by the commands you use to mark your CF as fixed. I have to
use a kingston ElitePro CF and i cannot figure out how to mark it as
fixed... So if you have a clue, as you seems to know how to make with a
sandisk one, even without windows XP...

Thanks !

Beatrice

A tool obtained under NDA which makes it unlikely you'll be able to find it.

SanDisk only provided a command line tool. They were the only CF
manufacturer to provide such a tool to change removable ID to Fix ID. There
has been a rumor that SanDisk doesn't offer the utility any more. You have
to purchase CF cards that are already ID'd as removable.
