Hmm think my computer is in some need for some love and attention

My system is, well, look at my sig ;)

Would I be better off buying, say a 6800Ultra and running it solo ... or get another 6800gt and run em Sli?

Also, another gig of ram wouldnt hurt ... I guess

Worth upgrading the CPU? Il try and get an FX or something for cheap if I can

suggestions? Thanks! x

THere are some silly money X 1950 Pro cards around at the moment .

Budget, as cheap as possible

I dont want to have a complete new computer n stuff

I already have one 6800gt, so would getting another (around £100) be better of than getting a 6800ultra or slightly better? I dont need the best gfx card ever because I will be running my games at low resolutions on my 17inch screen :P

well two 6800 GT would be about the same performance as a 7800 GTX

But SLI is a PIA and is not supported by all games....

SLI = More Power, More Heat and more problems. One good card over two average ones anyday. ;)

7800 GTX is good :O Me liking the prospect of sweeter graphics :P

Say I install a new processor, a new graphics card and maybe some more ram, will i need to reformat my rig?

no if your still using the same motherboard... once you change the mobo, then you have to reformat

Ahh cool, so can change the shizzzle with little trouble ... sounds better :)

I dont trust myself, so I think I shall do a major back up!

I only care about my music collection, if i were to loose all that I would be ****ed off!

Looks kinda nifty, is it a lot better than my current 6800gt? And will there be a lot of issues uninstalling / installing drivers? :P

Should be good...have a look here.

You should install Driver Cleaner Pro, uninstall the old drivers, turn off, remove the old card, install new card, boot into safe mode run DCP, reboot and install the latest ATI drivers.:)

That looks a really impressive card, how comes it is really cheap :o

Do computers run in safe mode without a video card then?

I have that card in AGP format, doing the job nicely, need to go pick up the new PSU as we speak to boost performance!

Its cheap because tech moves fast and retailers want to sell off the old and get the new stuff in. Like the 2xxx series of cards.

Did i say run the pc in safe mode without the card in? ;)
