Hi all,

I have a pc that died. I thought it was the processor (PII) so I replaced it. It's a non national brand.

400mhz PII
256 meg RAM
80 gig hd with API card
flat screen monitor

I turn on the power and it doesn't even identify that there is a floppy drive. The number led doesn't light on the keyboard. The monitor stays black. I don't hear the hard drive being accessed, the hard drive access lamp is lit.

Bad mother board?

Any thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Darrell

Try a different (working) power supply.

HTH

open it up and make sure all the cards are plugged in securely.

esp the video card and hd controller.

that's one reason why it won't fire up.

What do you mean by non national brand?
