so 56 kbps modem means that it can download maximum of 5.6 kilo bytes ( not
bits ) per second........am i right

i have windows xp installed when i download some softeaere it is downloaded
at a constant speed ranging from 8 to 4 kilo bytes per second but when i
star the windows task manager and click the networking tab in the network
usage i am give taht 70 % of the network is used so what that means
........... is there any software that can also make that remainning bandwith
..........

Get a download manager, such as FreshDownload from
www.freshdevices.com
It will maximize the connection.

I once hit "1.10 mbps" on a dialup connection downloading
parts of a video from a binary newsgroup. I even captured a
screenshot of the DU Meter display showing it.

Compression, buffers and bursts effect momentary spikes.

I once had a date with a beautiful blonde, but that wasn't
anything I could count on. I didn't take a picture.
