This thing doesn't show up in anywhere in either my os's BelArc profile or
even in add/remove programs, but when I found reference to it's name upon
starting to delete a startup shortcut supposedly for "Welcome to VAIO life".
Out of my 8 startup shortcut icons, only 2 of them are listing this thing's
name in the resulting popup that asks me 'if I'm sure I want to delete the
shortcut'.
So we're all on the same page (so to speak), I find these startup shortcuts
when I right click on my desktop's "Start" button and click "Explore All
Users".
Then when I go to delete either the shortcut icon for "Welcome to VAIO life"
or "Internet Access", the resulting popup says 'Confirm Shortcut Delete -
Deleting the shortcut to FlashJester Jugglor Engine' (and then there's a
partially missing section of the popup's text which only the top 30% of the
text is visible saying...) 'uninstall the program' (an empty area of the
presumable text line is then shown for about 13 letter's spacing) and then
the text continues saying... 'only removes the icon. It does not (next text
line says...) If you want to uninstall the program, use Add or Remove
Programs in Control Panel.'
Note that the partially hidden text that appears to say 'uninstall the
program' is below a blanked out section of the popup's presumably expected
text area which is all blank until it begins with 'only removes the icon. It
does not'.
Note that the 2nd line appears blanked out until the text reappears as 'only
removes the icon. It does not'. Also the section of text that appears to say
'uninstall the program' looks like it belongs on the line below, but the
popup's sizing appears to have scrunched upwards the height of the popup and
hidden the 70% of the text saying 'uninstall the program'.
Long of the short of it, the popup's scrunched partially hidden text area
appears to have tabbed the line for saying "only removes the icon, It does
not" but a section of text is entirely missing.
As these 2 icons both have the same ''Confirm Shortcut Delete' popups and
both refer to this 'FlashJester Jugglor Engine' thing, plus the popups are
malformed, raises my suspicions that I may have been hacked and these icons
are predecessors to malicious program(s).
Has anybody else seen this 'FlashJester Jugglor Engine' thing in systems
running XP Home? My Googling for it only hits on it as being related to some
fancy 3rd party search engine and/or related to cracks, plus about half the
hits are in Russian (I think it is).
As I used the operating while I visited in Skopje, Macedonia, I'm thinking I
was hacked while online there and that if I'm right, these two shortcut icons
are just the tip of the iceberg. Strange thing is that I recently formatted,
so unless the hack had enough info already about me to re-hack me, I'd only
be a little surprized if these icons are legitimate.
