Pricelesswarehome has Aida32 and Belarc Advisor as sytem information
tools. What other ones do you recommend and what other hardware
monitoring or information tools do you suggest?

Boy, it looks just like Aida32. What is the difference, just more
updated systems supported?
The guy who wrote Aida32 was "bought out" and released Everest in its
place.

System Information for Windows

That is a *great* program. Not sure if it is better than Aida/Everest
but it is at least as good. Thanks!!!

Hmmm. How come it wants to connect out when I check Network Info.?

'System Information' from your computer wants to connect to
sauron.spinweb.net [216.37.57.68], port 80

Think I'll remove it.

have you tried going to that url? it looks as though that could be a valid
test of something, given that you just asked it to check the network.

We are certainly moving with alacrity to the future

No, I didn't. It may well be an innocent connection, but I don't trust
programs that unexpectedly try to connect to unknown sites, with
unannounced intentions. I asked it to check my network, not make a
surreptitious connection to a site on the internet. People who aren't
so cautious, often end up with viruses and trojans on their system.

Besides, I found the program to be rather slow on my system (celery
600 running at 750).
