What *should* my powercolor 9800 pro clock speeds be?!!

Hi guys,

Rage3D Tweak 3.8c reckons my clock speeds are:

Core: 391.50
Memory: 351.00

Is this OK / Normal?! I thought the core was meant to be 400!?

Thanks guys,

Stock speeds on my Sapphire 9800 Pro are 338 memory and 378 clock. It runs
faster with ease, but I see no need. I've had it up to 385 memory and 440
core with no artifacts. It will go faster still, but my monitor can't keep
up.

your monitor what????

I can pump system speed and video card speed up to a 3DMark2003 of about
7200, but the display on my LCD is full of artifacts. The best clean score
I can get is about 6500. When I run software that tests for artifacts at
7200, none are detected, so I assume the bottleneck is the monitor. I get
similar problems when I just pump up the speed of system memory. What else
might it be?

The memory or core frequency has nothing to do with your cards DAC (the
circuit that drives your monitor, it run at his own frequency, something like
300 or 350MHz). Also dont trust artifact detection utilities a lot. These
utilities executes very simple d3d functions that probably dont create
artifacts in every case! By 99.9 percent the artifact problem is due to
over-increased vga memory speed.
