I have a 9800xt, 1 gig 333, xp2800 Barton on a 60g 7200rpm drive with a
nf7-sr2 mb. when I run the standard tests (with all apps shut down) in 3dm03
and my card set with all the sliders to the optimal quality settings, I get
a score of 2455, and if I set the card to the middle in balanced, I get a
score of 6245, where should the sliders be to get the same score you guys
achieve?

Why are you so bothered? Its just one single benchmark and as long as
you're in the right area who gives a shit? Also there's far too many
other variables too.

For God sake, get a life.

Don't worry about it. Set everything to PERFORMANCE. =)

.....he's the one that needs to get a life? Just let him ask his question and
keep your dislike for 3D mark to yourself instead of being aggressive and
making personal insults.

if performance is the default setting for benchmarking, then I will try
that.

Is that 2455 score with V sync on? Seems really low even with everything
else turned on. You can have it set to 640x480x16 and score like crap with
V sync on, especially if your refresh rate is 60Hz. I haven't tried it
out but my 9800pro on balanced settings (It installed like that and I
haven't played with them cause it does everything I want it to do) I scored
around the 5500 mark. Try it with AA and AF on high and Vsync off and see
what you end up with.

I never have v-sync turned on, and the 6245 score is on the balanced/v-sync
off settings with an 85 hertz monitor on 1024x768 resolution.

performance is the default setting for benchmarking. Your Score of 6245
seems just fine.

We should find someone that has a monitor that goes to 100mhgz at
1024x768x32 and see what it does...
