Anybody know?

My new computer came with Microsoft Works and it is not able to convert my old Word files correctly. I have extensive and complicated Word files (large documents with page breaks, page numbers, tables, drawing boxes, graphics, text boxes, etc) made in Word 97. What new Word Product will accept all my old documents with out alteration.

Thanks in advance

Glenn

Any current version of Word will open Word 97 files seamlessly. The latest
version is Word 2003 (part of Office 2003), but you can get Word 2002 (part
of Office XP) as part of Works Suite 2004, which costs less than $100 in
most outlets (and there is a $15 rebate offer currently in effect).

As Suzanne has suggested, any Word version from 97 to the present 2003 will
open these files, but because of the vagaries of printer drivers and font
outlines there will be a measure of reformatting if you open the document on
any platform other than that it was saved on.
