I have an HP 1020 laser printer. I want to know what program i can use
to write my text, then print the labels. Word? Notepad? I just want to
print two labels, not the whole sheet. Thanks.

Has the label printing option been removed from Tools in Word?

Actually, i just printed something on the labels as a test. I did use
Word and changed preferences to labels, but now i need to know how to
print onto just one or two labels. In other words, how do i set up the
printer or Word to just print a few labels? If later i decide to print
out all the labels, how would i do that? There must be about 20 or so
labels per sheet.

There's a choice of a single label in the row & column you choose, or a
full sheet of the same label, or you can cut/copy/paste.
Perhaps the tip is for you to do a full page of the same label as a new
document, with no text in it, then add the text manually to the cells
you want to print to, then print.

Don't count on the cells being aligned perfectly - while they might be
on a good printer, they probably won't be on a cheap inkjet.

Just a tip... if you're only printing a couple labels from a full
sheet, print them at the opposite end from the leading edge of the
paper.

e.g. on an IP5000, the leading edge is the top edge of the paper, so
print your couple of labels at the bottom edge first, and slowly work
your way up the page on subsequent prints.

This will help prevent a future misfeed of a partial sheet of labels
where some labels have already been removed, as the "weak" part of the
page will be at the tail end of the sheet, not the leading edge.
