I'm getting conflicting info from Dell about what type processor I have. It is an Intel with the following markings:FW82801D
L250004
SL6D
One source calls it a P4 w/1.8GHz , another said it is a Celeron 1.2GHz , and My Computer (properties) claims 1.8GHz P4
The Intel website identified it as a Pentium M. I'm (easily) confused. Can anyone tell me what the heck it is ? Many thanks for everybody's patience while my learning curve goes horizontal.

Goto Contol Panel-->System.

The (default) General tab should show you the information at the bottom.

Where are you finding these numbers? I did a search for the FW82801DB and it
comes up as an Intel I/O controller, which is part of the motherboard. The
SL6DM also appears to be a motherboard component.

Most of the Intel CPUs I've seen have the speed marked on the CPU.

And the Pentium M is a processor for laptops (M is for Mobile).

OK. I will just keep my cotton pickin' fingers off the hardware till I learn more. Thanks , again.
