On the Microsoft Windows AntiSpyware (Beta) page in the
Microsoft Download Center is the following warning-info:

Important Notes

English only:
The current beta is intended only for English language
versions of the
Microsoft Windows operating system. It should not be
deployed on non-English
versions.

What problems occur by installing it on a German-Windows-
version windows XP 5.1 ???

Kind regards

I think you will be fine. The only severe problems I've heard noted are in
situations where there are character-set issues. Japanese Windows, and
Hebrew settings, are problems not easily solved.

The major issue is whether you've chosen a non-default date format (long and
short date format) If you see issues with dates (program won't run, claims
already expired even though the date is correct)--reset those drop-downs to
the topmost choice, and all should be well.

I have it installed on a Japanese version of windows and it
works with no problems.
So it should run OK on a German version. ( Who knows...I
guess you should just try it!)

I'm impressed--we'd had a previous report that it couldn't be made to
function on Japanese Windows, as I recall because of date format or
character set issues.

Slight amendment. When I said no problem.. that was
referring to the actual functions. There is a problem
reading the date in the message centre on the system
summary but it does not interfere with the function of the
program. I can do scans update etc no problem. Other
messages etc read fine. It's the only problem I can find.

Terrific--I think I've seen similar reports from users using the Hebrew
character set--bad characters in the dates.
