Hi Group,

I am trying to find a text only driver that will retain the formatting for
an Okidata ML 320 9 pin. The problem is as such:

I am printing from a Procomm 4.8 session and we are doing screen dumps to
the printer. If I use any of the standard drivers my printing is lethargic
(as these drivers are printing bitmaps). If I use a text only driver the
printing is speedy, but the format is unusable as the content runs off the
right side of the page.

Does anyone know what print driver I should be using in this application?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Sounds like the dot matrix printer needs a bit of switchology.
Usually, there is a hardware related method of setting such a printer to do
such things as:
Wrap a line longer than what the printer can print on one line, adding a C/R
as necessary.
Reducing the font size of the default character set so that a longer line
can be printed on one line.
(Printer dip switches, control panel buttons, etc.)
It has been years since I used Procomm, back in the DOS days. You may be
able to dump the procomm output to a text file, and then paste it into a
preformatted blank word document. Given enough use it should be possible to
even generate a script or macro to accomplish the repetitive tasks
involved.
As I recall procomm was a good terminal emulator. There are newer terminal
emulators that may work better for your application.
