What permissions are needed for total access?

What are the permissions required for an administrator (not "The
Administrator") to be able to browse to, open, copy, move, edit, and save a
file/folder?

Do these permissions need to be set individually for every root-level folder
on my machine? Or is there a more efficient way to accomplish the same
thing?

I actually like the UAC, and do not want to disable it, but I noticed that
sometimes it interferes with routine file operations. None of the folders
on my computer require any restrictions. I created all the folders myself
with Win2000 or WinXP and it seems that Vista does not like this.

This is not a multi-boot system. All OSes are independent from each other
on separate system disks. I choose the disk to boot to from bios.

Hello,

All of the folders you created from a different OS that reside on an
NTFS-formatted partition will need to have a permission added to them.

Note that this is not a Vista-specific problem, but rather a side effect of
multibooting and wanting to access shared files on an NTFS partition. The
reason it worked so well with XP/2k was that everybody ran as an
administrator :)

Here's how:

1) Open an "administrator/root" explorer
- Click start
- Type explorer
- right-click windows explorer
- click run-as administrator

2) From the admin explorer, allow access from Vista
- Browse to the folder you need access to
- Right-click it
- Click Properties
- Click security tab
- Click Edit
- Click Add
* If only your account needs acces, type your username
* If every account on vista needs access, type: Users
- Press enter
- Click the checkbox under Allow next to Full control
- Click OK
- Click OK

Repeat step 2 for all folders you need access to.

NOTE: You may also have to repeat steps 2 for folders within the folder you
just set the permissions on, if they were created by the operating system
