What needs to be done to get BLUETOOTH working in BETA 2?

The drivers finally installed ok, but I am not sure where to go to add a new
connection for my logitech bt mouse. Looked all over control panel, don't see
anything bluetooth.

I have the same issue. I have an IOGear USB Bluetooth Adapter (GBU311) which
Vista detected and correctly installed the Broadcom driver, yet I don't have
any Bluetooth Icon in control panel. Anyone else have an idea? Thanks.

Same problems, I believe... I have Logitech diNovo Media Deskto 2.0 Kb and
Mouse.
they use their USB BT reciever. Under XP it is easily recognized as a BT
dongle, Vista does not see it at all.
I even managed to install WIDCOMM BT drivers :) but it does not help at all.
Anyone know, is there a possibility to use the Logitech BT reciever or I
should look for another solution?

Hello Skip,
Clean install or upgrade?
What Bluetooth devices show in Device Manager?
I show it in Control Panel under Hardware and Sound. Bluetooth Devices.
If this is the Microsoft Bluetooth Stack there should be a bthprops.cpl
file located in \windows\system32.
from the Run line you can enter c:\windows\system32\bthprops.cpl
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

Hi Darrell

I am one one of those from the Logitech DiNovo users wanting to get
Bluetooth Running from a Clean Install.

How did "c:\windows\system32\bthprops.cpl" get to be in the system in the
first place because my system shows no Bluetooth Devices at all.

Martin

Hello Martin,
It's part of the OS. So it's unclear from the thread which Bluetooth Stack
is being installed.
If it's Logitech's Bluetooth stack and drivers then their Control Panel
applet needs to be used.
If it's Microsoft. then the bthprops.cpl is used.
For some reason it may not be displaying in Control Panel, but running it
from a command line may at least give us an informative error message or
clue about the issue.
Thanks,
Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

Hi Darrell

I have posted a method in another thread for the Logitech Issue. It seems
to me that their installation CD will not install its drivers in Vista so
that when the hub is plugged in no detection takes place. If (as I mention
elsewhere) I use a different BlueTooth aerial and driver software then their
products can be recognised that way and in my case Logitech also have a
download of the software without the Bluetooth parts.

So on this issue I am a happier bunny and am now working on the next Vista
nightmare and a TV card !!

Regards

Martin

Hello Darrell,

I have the same 'Iogear 311' Hub as SKip and thought everything installed
properly.
However, Bluetooth does show in the DEVICE MANAGER but not in the CONTROL
PANEL. I tried RUNNING that program you suggested
"c:\windows\system32\bthprops.cpl" and I get the "CANNOT BE FOUND" error.

I was trying to sync both an Audiovox PPC and a Nokia Phone...

Please Help..
