What May Cause A Diskette To Run Continuously?

[Hi Ho Silver]

All of my 3 1/2" diskettes run ok in the floppy drive, except one in
particular which will just run continuously (green light on) and never
display its contents, etc., until I terminate the application (which Windows
doesn't like, as it hiccups and redraws the desktop, etc.). Anyway, what
might be the problem with the diskette that causes it to act in this way?
(I did google this, but no joy). Thanks.

Basically its defective and the drive trys reading it forever.

It will stop eventually.

(I did google this, but no joy).

Sometimes this can be caused by improper reversal of the IDE cable
going to the disk drive -- of course this will only happen if you just
built the computer and mistakenly reversed the cable. Otherwise ...
your drive could be dying on you ... or you could have some sort of
trojan such as NEtBus causing your drive to spin-up

Cant be that, he says it only happens with one diskette.
