what is wrong with my computer

Hi,
there's something weird happening to my computer, Regardless if i
shut my computer the proper way or not, the computer always goes
through a consistency check the next time i turn on the computer. Not
only that, it takes a half an hour or more to complete. ( but i
usually skip it.) What's going on?
 
I'd download and run the diagnostic tools for the disk from the
manufacturer's web site.

You're not doing yourself any favours by skipping it.
