Hi all -

Just checking. I have recently installed Netscape as my Internet browser and
for my e-mails while doing some troubleshooting. When I set up the e-mail
part of it, I got a an alert from Zone Alarm that WGET was trying to contact
the Internet. I am not sure what this is. Is this something I should be
concerned about? I've never seen this before. I ran SpyBot and Adaware to
see if it was a pest, but, nothing showed up

I would really appreciate any suggestions or information on this.

Type wget in google. http://www.gnu.org/directory/wget.html

It's a popular Internet file getter called (amongst others) by Art
Kopp's f-prot updater. Probably nothing to worry about.

Sophos doesn't use WGET. People are free, however, to use whatever utility
they like to download files from the Internet. WGET is just one of them.
See here for more information on WGET:
http://www.gnu.org/software/wget/wget.html

I have just recently installed a couple of new programs and the Netscape,
and when I made my usual AV, SpyBot, Adaware, and the other bunch of Worm
Wranglers, Trojan Trodders, DoomSlayers, there were a few new things that my
Zone Alarm questioned and AV & some of the others suddenly showed up as
suspected Trojans, worms or viriis (?_?). This was one of them, the others
were JS/Loop, and Six Bullets from Hell.izs from 1st Page, and the latest as
of a few hours ago is C:\Windows\SNDVOL32.exe, which CSW says could be part
of CWS.Controls.3. Since my AV questioned them, I was just curious if this
one was truly harmless. I am still checking some of the others.

Thank you very much for the additional information, I truly appreciate your
time and help.

Jan :)
