what is this "auto printers" ?

hi
listed in my printers is a list of the networks "auto
printers (auto printer name here)". i keep deleting them
so i only have my printers listed but they keep coming
back to the listing. why does this happen and why / what
is "auto printers"? any way of turning this off? its very
annoying to have to dig through 20 printers to find my 2.
