Hello:

I have a CA that was brought online a long time ago. How can I tell what
the size of my encryption key is? Thanks

Harrison Midkiff

Look at the details page of it's certificate for public key field available on the CA
or any computer that trusts it and available through mmc certificates snapin for
computer account. On a trusting computer [such as a domain member] it would be in the
trusted root folder. --- Steve

Hi Harrison,

Thanks for your posting here.

When you use certificate server web enrollment, there is an advanced option
that allows you to select the key strength.

Hi Harrison,

Please perform the following steps:

1. On the computer where the Web site will reside, browse to your
certificate server's Web pages (usually located at
http://<servername>/certsrv, where <servername >is the name of the server
hosting IIS and the certificate server).

2. Choose Request a Certificate, and then click Next.

3. Choose Advanced Request, and then click Next.

You can check the Key Size under Key Options.
