In addition, Home and Student is licensed for home use. It is not licensed
for the creation of business documents. If I remember correctly, it says
something like that at the top of the app when you run it.

if we live without making a difference, it makes no difference that we

Home and Student cannot be used as an upgrade qualifier.
For example, if you have Home and Student 2003, you can't use it to
qualify
you to use the Office 2007 upgrade version (which is a lot lot cheaper
than
the full, non-upgrade.)
If you have PPT 2003, it can be used as an upgrade qualifier.

Can anyone tell me the difference between just buying Powerpoint, or
buying
the Home and Student suite as far as the end-user license agreement
goes?
I don't understand why it is that Home and Student, which has more,
costs
less than Powerpoint solo.
