What is the Contacts...button for?

In my Outlook 2003 in a contact I see a contacts.... button on the lower
left. What
is its purpose?

It allows you to link any item with one or more contacts, so that you can quickly recall information about those contacts and, on the contact record, see the linked item on the Activities page.
