I was using Kerio and it caused some problems for me on XP Pro. Looking to
switch to Zone Alarm and am wondering which version is functional with the
least bloat and system drain. Oldversion.com has 2.0, 2.1, and 2.6. I don't
need to be on the bleeding edge, just something that will keep the the
sassers and gobots from getting in. Thanks.

I have never seen a compelling reason to move beyond ver. 3.7.211 .

A quick search found it available here:

I have been very happy with version 3.7.143, running on XP Home.

You can get a copy of it from Son of Spy's excellent freeware site.

So.. what version of Kerio were you using?

I have Win XP Pro here and Kerio Version 2.1.5 was by far better than Zonew
Alarm (which was bloated, ad was crashy for me).

Not trying to start a war, just curious if you had kerio version above the
2.1.5.

Thanks, and good luck

I had kerio 2.1.5 on XP Pro and had a networking problem with it that
I simply couldn't resolve. I gave up in the end and switched to
Sygate.

I was using the latest version, 4.0.16. Checking out Sygate now on a
recommend from another user. I even had a problem with my system rebooting
itself in the middle of virus scans when I ran AVG or the free version of
NOD which has also been remedied after uninstalling Kerio. I liked the
program, it just made my machine run a bit buggy.
