In XP display properties under device manager, I see the main ATI Radeon
x800 driver, but right below it I also see another driver called ATA Radeon
x800 Secondary.

What is that for?

Most Radeons have dual output either for 2 monitors or 1 monitor and 1 TV so
you get 2 listings. What confuses many ppl is the reference to primary and
secondary adapters when you know you have only one display adapter. Dont
worry - its normal.

You've got a good point. If they had used the word "auxillary," I would not
have asked.

There are two outputs: DVI and Analog? Each is a separate adapter.

They use primary and secondary since that's how windows and
bios consider it as well, with the primary being what
displays video upon turning on the system.
