Hello,

Does anyone what is "Shared DDR" memory of type SDRAM?

Is it just a name specific to PC memory from Dell?

I searched the net but came up empty on the explanation.

Thanks,

It refers to memory that is shared, with the video card. Typically, in
laptops. Avoid it, at all costs.

Onboard graphics chips don't have their own RAM, so they have to use some of
the system RAM. Shared memory is the portion of main system RAM that is
"shared" (actually confiscated) by the onboard graphics chip.

The DDR part just means that the system RAM (which the graphics sub-system
is "sharing") is DDR.

Hey Sr, don't you know that top posting is uncouth?

As I understand it, sharing memory with onboard video is less of a
performance disadvantage if you are running Dual Channel DDR, as with
the nforce2 chipsets on (for instance) the Biostar M7NCG Pro.

STFU.
